Hatteras Hotels—Rodanthe, Waves & Salvo

Hatteras hotels in Rodanthe, Waves and Salvo are some of the most nostalgic and charming of Outer Banks hotels, including the long-loved Hatteras campgrounds. Truth be told, most the Hatteras hotels are actually Hatteras motels, but it’s probably only visitors of a certain age who are even that aware of the difference! These historic properties, many of which have been owned by the same Outer Banks hotel families for many years, are well-maintained and provide a good basic accommodation for your Cape Hatteras vacation. What characterizes the accommodation scene more in this Rodanthe, Waves and Salvo area, however, are the many campgrounds. In fact, this area is so known for its varied and popular campgrounds that thousands of visitors through the years will say that their preferred Hatteras hotel is one where you sleep in a tent alongside fellow nature lovers! And speaking of nature lovers, recent years have seen the emergence of several water-oriented Hatteras Island resorts that cater to the devotees of watersports such as kiteboarding, paddleboarding, surfing and kayaking. They’re what anyone would describe as high-end Hatteras hotels with full amenities and extras that create a complete Hatteras Island vacation experience. Oh, and if your four-legged family member insists on coming along, there’s even a Hatteras Island Pet Resort…yes, they get pampered too!
