Having grown up on the island and spending much of her time diving the local waters, her jewlery is understandably natically inspired. Denise Gaskins - Watercolor Artist

The world around Denise Gaskins is brimming with inspiration and beauty. Hatteras Island offers an endless well of subjects. She paints what she sees and is blesses to be surrounded by magnificence.
“I use watercolor for its translucency and versatility. My inspiration is color and the bueaty of the sky, water, wildlife, boats, beaches and old structures. My paintings are tight, finely detailed and realistic. While I challenge myself to loosen my style, my goal is to convey the realism of the subject.” Denise

Antionette Gaskins Mattingly - local potter

Antionette is a fourth generation Hatteras Island artist. As the daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter of artists, she has enjoyed working in various mediums since childhood. They have all led to the work she creates in clay today. Come by The Gaskins Gallery and check out her tiles, ornaments, switch plates and mugs.
